South Animation Festival Concept

Print Design

"South Animation Festival" was a fictional festival I created for a university project. I wanted to create a poster for such an event, but I didn't want to be influenced by any existing festival. This poster really brought out the minimalist in me. I created a character; a mascot for the festival.

The original concept for the poster involved creating animation stills that lay out over the entire page. But the thin lines all over the page created a messy-looking grid that didn't sit well with me. I deleted most of the stills and left a few in choice positions to help emphasise my little mascot. I think the personality of the mascot (who I still haven't named...) positioned against the neutrality of the poster (reflecting the idea that there isn't any specific genre the festival favours) strikes a nice balance.

A mockup website design was also created.
